Coatue, one of many largest names in enterprise capital and hedge funds, has a brand new plan to generate greater returns on AI past its sizable stakes in Anthropic, OpenAI, xAI, and knowledge heart corporations like Singapore’s DayOne and CoreWeave.

It has launched a enterprise referred to as Subsequent Frontier to purchase up land close to giant energy sources with the aim of turning these parcels into knowledge facilities, the Wall Street Journal reports. Sources inform the WSJ that Subsequent Frontier has already signed a three way partnership with FluidStack, a cloud infrastructure startup that penned a $50 billion deal to construct knowledge facilities for Anthropic. (Coatue didn’t reply to a request for remark.)

Though the US already has 3,000 knowledge facilities, greater than 1,500 new ones are in varied phases of being constructed, based on Pew Research, most of them in rural areas. The frenzy is engaging land hypothesis and knowledge heart financing initiatives from a number of gamers, starting from Blackstone to Shark Tank’s Kevin O’Leary.
