**The Great Blame Game: Marquis Calls Out SonicWall for Ransomware Breach**

I mean, when two companies start pointing fingers at each other after a breach, it’s usually a wild ride. And boy, does the latest drama between Marquis, a fintech firm, and SonicWall, its firewall supplier, deliver. Marquis is blaming SonicWall for its recent ransomware attack, and things are getting messy.

So, here’s the CliffsNotes version: Marquis claims that SonicWall’s own knowledge breach exposed sensitive security details about its clients’ firewalls, making it easy for hackers to swoop in and steal the necessary credentials to launch the attack. Yeah, it sounds crazy, but that’s basically what Marquis is saying. According to their memo, hackers accessed their firewall configuration data through SonicWall’s cloud backup service, which was compromised in the breach.

Naturally, SonicWall is pushing back, asking for proof to back up Marquis’ claims and insisting that their own breach wasn’t the direct cause of the attack. Honestly, I’m a bit torn here. On one hand, if Marquis is saying that SonicWall’s breach was the root cause of the whole thing, you’d think they’d have some solid evidence to back it up. On the other hand, I’m no security expert, and this whole situation has me scratching my head.

The breach happened back in August 2025, and it affected a whopping hundreds of thousands of people. Marquis is a major player in fintech, with access to a treasure trove of sensitive data, including personal information, financial data, and Social Security numbers. This is no minor hiccup.

So, what do you guys think? Did SonicWall really drop the ball, or is Marquis just on a witch hunt? Let me know your thoughts – safely, of course.

P.S. If you’re interested in more info on the breach, Marquis has published a detailed memo outlining their claims. And if you’re a SonicWall customer, you might want to check out their response to the allegations.
