**Takedowns and Legal Demands on the Rise**
Bluesky took down 3,619 accounts suspected of being part of influence operations, likely from Russia. Moderators and automated systems worked together to remove accounts and content, with 6,334 items taken down by moderators and 282 by automated systems.
The company issued 3,192 temporary suspensions and 14,659 permanent removals for ban evasion in 2025. Many of the permanent suspensions were due to inauthentic behavior, spam networks, and impersonation.
**Labeling Over Takedowns**
Bluesky seems to prefer labeling content over removing it. The company applied 16.49 million labels to content, a 200% increase year-over-year, while account takedown grew 104% from 1.02 million to 2.08 million. Most of the labeling involved adult and suggestive content or nudity.
