Daniel Ek-backed protection tech Helsing to boost $1.2B at $18B valuation

    Helsing

5-year-old European navy drone startup Helsing is reportedly near elevating a brand new $1.2 billion spherical at about an $18 billion valuation. The spherical is predicted to be led by Dragoneer and co-led by current Helsing investor Lightspeed, the Financial Times reported.

Helsing final raised just below a 12 months in the past, in June 2025, in a deal that was led by billionaire Spotify founder Daniel Ek. That was a €600 million funding at an estimated €12 billion valuation ($14 billion USD). So this new spherical is a step-up.

Whereas Helsing isn’t the one European unicorn protection tech, it’s by far the one which traders deem essentially the most worthwhile. For example, German drone maker Quantum Methods raised €180 million in November, which valued it at greater than €3 billion. And a 12 months in the past, Lisbon-headquartered Tekever raised £400 million at a valuation above £1 billion. Amid Russia’s ongoing warfare in Ukraine, the proving floor for brand spanking new applied sciences, autonomous protection startups have turn out to be a scorching space for VCs.

Helsing, Dragoneer, and Lightspeed couldn’t be instantly reached for remark.
