The app has seen a median of about 14,000 daily downloads since Thursday, representing a 2,850% increase in daily downloads.
The surge in downloads comes as no surprise, given the concerns about TikTok’s potential influence on political agendas. TikTok’s updated privacy policy has also raised eyebrows, allowing the app to track users’ GPS coordinates and other information.

Skylight, another TikTok alternative built on open-source technology, has also seen significant growth, topping over 380,000 sign-ups.
