**Gmail Heated Up My Inbox and I’m Not Pleased**
Ugh, has your Gmail been acting up lately? Yeah, mine too. It seems like I’m not the only one who’s noticed some wonky behavior from my trusty email service. According to the Google Workspace status dashboard, there’s a widespread issue going on that’s causing emails to get misclassified, end up in the wrong inbox, and – worst of all – trigger spam warnings on legit emails from people I know.
I’m talking legit, I mean, folks. Like, I’m talking my grandma’s emails are going to spam. Yeah, that’s right. It’s been a real mess.
From what I’ve gathered, the problems started around 5am Pacific time on Saturday (because, of course, it was on a Saturday). I woke up to a totally clueless inbox – my neat and tidy little home was suddenly a disaster zone. I’m a neat freak when it comes to email, so this was a total nightmare.
As I’ve scrolled through social media, I’ve seen tons of people complaining about the same issue. People are saying things like “all the spam is going to my inbox” and “Gmail’s filters have imploded”. I feel you, friends. I feel you.
Google’s acknowledged the issue and they’re working on fixing it, but until then, they’re reminding everyone to be super careful when interacting with emails from unknown senders. Um, yeah. That’s not really a “for dummies” tip, but they’ve got to say it, I guess.
I’ve reached out to Google for more info, but I thought I’d give you a heads up on what’s going on. If you’re dealing with this madness, just know you’re not alone. Hang in there, folks!
