To not be outdone by OpenAI, Apple is reportedly growing an AI wearable

**Apple’s Secret Project: An AI-Powered Pin That’s Taking the Tech World by Storm?**

I’m still trying to wrap my head around the latest rumor from The Information, which claims that Apple is working on an AI-powered wearable that looks like a pin you can wear on your clothes. Yeah, you read that right – a pin. With cameras and microphones.

Apparently, this tiny device would have a lot more going on than just being a stylish accessory. According to the report, it would have two cameras (one with a standard lens and one with a wide-angle lens), three microphones, and even a physical button, speaker, and a charging strip on the back. And it’s all packed into a slim, flat, round disc that’s roughly the size of an AirTag.

Rumors suggest that Apple is planning to launch this device in 2027, with a production run of 20 million units. But before we get too hyped, let’s not forget that Apple has tried to compete with innovative products from startups before, only to see them fizzle out. Remember Humane AI, the company founded by two Apple alums that released an AI pin with built-in mics and a camera? Yeah, it didn’t exactly set the world on fire, and the company ended up shutting down operations and selling its assets to HP a couple of years later.

So, will consumers actually want an AI pin? Only time will tell. But one thing’s for sure – the tech world is getting more and more excited about the possibilities of AI hardware. Just yesterday, OpenAI’s Chief World Affairs Officer Chris Lehane hinted that the company is planning to release its own AI-powered gadget in the second half of this year, with some speculating that it could be a pair of earbuds.

The AI hardware market is definitely heating up, and I’m curious to see how Apple’s AI pin would fit into the mix. Would you wear an AI pin on your clothes? Let me know in the comments!
