**The Future of Slack is Here: Introducing the Supercharged Slackbot**

For Enterprise+ and Enterprise+ customers, this new AI agent can do it all – from discovering information to drafting emails and scheduling conferences – all within the Slack platform. And that’s not all – it can also connect with and interact with other business products like Microsoft Teams and Google Drive, provided it’s granted permission. This means you can work across a handful of different common business functions without ever having to leave Slack.
So, how did Salesforce come up with the idea for this revolutionary new AI agent? According to Salesforce CTO Parker Harris, the company tests new products with its own employees for months before they’re released. And the result? Slackbot has been the most adopted internal tool they’ve launched. As Harris jokingly put it, “We like to drink our own champagne first.”
But what’s really impressive is the numbers. “Just seeing the sheer active user count is a good sign that we’ve hit on product-market-fit,” Harris said. “Adopted, not mandated, in firms.” And the plan is to take Slackbot beyond being just a text-based agent within Slack. They want to add voice capabilities and the ability for Slackbot to browse the web alongside its users.
I recently had the chance to catch up with Harris to get more insight into what makes Slackbot so special. “It’s an agent, it’s a tremendous agent that’s your employee agent,” he told me. “It’s powered by generative AI, and it’s something that’s extremely crafted and extremely curated to be an agentic experience that employees and customers love.”
So, what does the future hold for Slackbot? Only time will tell, but one thing is for sure – this AI agent is about to change the game.
